This year marks the 331st crush at Groot Constantia, or rather, a number close to 331. As you can imagine, keeping track of events on an estate that has been producing wine for over 300 years is not an exact science. The crush this year, however, is.
On February 8, China ushers in the New Year as determined by the Chinese lunar calendar. 2016 is also the official Year of Hóu (猴) with many celebrations planned all across China as they pray for a good harvest in 2016 (Feb. is the end of winter in China).
2015 has been a bumper year for Groot Constantia. From fighting natures wrath in the form of a ravaging fire, to celebrating its 330th birthday and receiving numerous awards for their wines, this year has been beyond memorable.

Earlier this year Groot Constantia celebrated its 330th year and it was an all-inclusive affair where they invited everyone to celebrate their official birth date, Monday 13 July 1685, with them.
