The Constantia Valley farms held a Sports Day which was organised by Groot Constantia’s Hansie Warries and his guys: Groot Constantia won the Rugby. Buitenverwachting won the Soccer. Loads of spot prizes were awarded for other events and the event was thoroughly enjoyed by all!
The Constantia Valley Grape Run has quickly become a classic on the running calendar. The route is tough and challenging but arguably the most beautiful in the Western Cape. The half marathon course runs through the historic wine farms of Groot Constantia, Klein Constantia, Buitenverwachting and Constantia Uitsig. It was run in October this year and one of the runners said, “I have just finished the Grape Run yesterday. It is tougher than I expected, but so beautiful! There was a good relaxed vibe. The table serving Constantia Valley Farms wines at 17 km in the vineyards was a nice touch – the Blanc de Noir was particularly nice!”
Constantia Farm Time Trial – an annual event with great rivalry between all the farms which takes place in November each year. There was great enthusiasm between competitors and although all finished, some didn’t realise how far 5km was. Groot Constantia won the Trophy. This event is looked forward to with great anticipation with farms all wanting to produce the best athlete…
