GROOT CONSTANTIA RECEIVES ‘SAFE TRAVELS STAMP’
We are extremely pleased to announce that Groot Constantia has received the ‘Safe Travels Stamp’ issued by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) – a certification which confirms that we are following all health and safety procedures to keep visitors safe and to ensure that we are compliant with all COVID-19 industry protocols.
Visitors to Groot Constantia can relax, knowing that we have adopted all the rulings set out by the WTTC and are going above and beyond to ensure your safety whilst on the Estate.
As part of our COVID-19 response we have introduced an intensified cleaning and sanitising regime, our staff are fully trained and kept up to date on the latest safety measures and protocols, visitors are required to wear masks at all times, and we are limiting the number of people in the tasting rooms, restaurant and wine sales areas at any one time to ensure we maintain social distancing protocols.
The World Travel and Tourism Council’s (WTTC) Safe Travels stamp is the first-ever global hygiene stamp, which has been created to allow travellers to recognise destinations that have implemented the required gold standard in terms of health and hygiene protocols.
Groot Constantia joins an international list of top travel destinations around the world to be awarded the stamp, following the implementation of comprehensive measures to safeguard the health of visitors and employees.
The global protocols were developed in collaboration with the WTTC Members, leading industry associations and international organisations. They consider the current guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The initiative is also backed by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation.
The WTTC produced the new global Safe Travel protocols for use by the Travel & Tourism sector as best practice guidelines to help restart and speed up the recovery of the sector in the wake of COVID-19. The aim of the protocols is to rebuild confidence among travellers, and within the tourism sector, so that safe travel can resume once restrictions are eased.
Jean Naudé, CEO Groot Constantia states “Groot Constantia recognises the critical role we play in providing a safe destination for families to enjoy. We are committed to enforcing the approved protocols and directions set out by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) in order to protect all who work and visit the Estate.”
“We are once again fully operational and open to the public for wine sales, wine tasting, meals and tours and are so excited to have our doors open to the public and to be welcoming visitors who can immerse themselves in the history of our beautiful Estate, enjoy our award-winning wines and a delicious meal.” says Naudé.
