There is a movement afoot that sees South Africans falling in love with their own country again. The Facebook page I’m Staying and hashtag #I’mStaying have gone viral as South Africans from all walks of life, all colours, creeds and cultures, connect with each other to share their reasons for loving SA.
The 10th to the 16th of October is Drink Local Wine Week – a time when South Africans are encouraged to support their local wine estates and celebrate the abundance of fabulous wines produced in the country. What better way to toast Drink Local Wine Week and pay homage to our local wines than by visiting Groot Constantia.
Groot Constantia are fully cognisant of the risks associated with human – baboon interactions on the Cape Peninsula. We do not use lethal force to control baboons but have taken costly measures to deter them from visiting the farm.
The arrival of Friday usually brings grounds for celebration, but this week Groot Constantia wine Estate has even more reason for festivities and is saying cheers with a chilled glass of their 2017 Method Cap Classique Brut Rosé, which has just won Gold at the 2019 Amorim Cap Classique Challenge.
Kindly be advised that all picnic baskets must be reserved at least 24 hours in advance from either Jonkershuis or Simons Restaurant. Additionally, guests are not permitted to bring their own picnic baskets or food onto the estate.
